Da Da Dugas

Philip R. Klein's posting on the Southeast Texas Political Review is the latest in a long series on Rhonda Dugas. There are three other candidates in the race of Jefferson County Clerk, but Philip's obsession is showing again. Next up, I suspect Philip will post photos of Rhonda Dugas mowing her yard and getting her oil changed. As a side note to PRK, you should check the "copywrite" on that photo of Rhonda posted on your front page -- I think it belongs to KFDM Channel 6.

For the record, his thinly-veiled accusations of bribery constitutes defamatory speech in my opinion. Here are two comments Philip made in the past week:

And the filing fee was $1,500. Right? And that is a campaign expenditure? Right? And so.......what? Where is that as a listing on her campaign expenditure report and ....the bigger question - is where did the money come from? So we called a source at the democratic office who tells us it was a "cashiers check" for $1,500 filed.

Support - [Rhonda Dugas] has the support of the Walker clan that wants Carolyn Guidry out. They know that if they put a forth person in the race it may just break the vote enough to .......have two of the challengers win the race.

A "forth" candidate so two challengers will win the race? What gibberish.

Ironically, this fat but shrewd political analyst didn't recognize those signs from Rhonda's last campaign. Rhonda recycles, but Klein cranks his hot tube.

Instead, I'll address Klein's claims about local TV ratings in my article today. Here are two comments culled from The Southeast Texas Political Review over the past two weeks:

KFDM is going to lose out in the news race. Both KBTV and KBMT are coming on strong. Blame Uncle Larry, blame corporate, Channel 6 is not the same old " News Leader.."

Seemingly FOX 4's numbers are rumored to be of discussion in newsrooms around the area. We have not seen them - but when your competition starts talking about them....well?

Presumably, Philip's point is that KBTV Channel 4, now known as Klein TV, is "coming on strong" because the station gives Klein airtime.  If Klein's claim is true about the topic of conversation in "newsrooms around the area," the question is: "Where's Channel 4?"

These are the most recent Nielsen ratings. Rating (RTG) is the percentage of all TVs in the Designated Market Area (DMA). These numbers reflect all households. This is the ranking of the top 10 programs in the Beaumont/Port Arthur market.

It's interesting to note that seven of the top 10 programs in Southeast Texas are news programs. It's even more interesting that Channel 4 News didn't show in the Top 50 programs.

Renowned attorney Jay Noble Doggett has free advice for KBTV: Air a disclaimer before Klein takes the mike. The brilliant legal expert from Yellville suggests something like this: "Mr.
Klein's rants are for entertainment purposes only and do not reflect the view of this station or its level-headed employees."

Didn't Phillip only have 30 or 40 listeners to his radio show?

Is Rhonda violating the law like Tom Maness and Judge Flores? You know, so serious of violations that PRK did not even file a complaint. Just asking.
