Here's a recipe for a typical article by Philip R. Klein on the Southeast Texas Political Review. In this instance, the topic loosely revolves around the campaign of Keith Hawkes for Jefferson County Treasurer.
Take one part confusion over basic high school civics:

All you have to do is mention WALKER to the black community in Port Arthur or Beaumont and you get the - I am going to vote against that guy attitude - when you are running in the democratic primary
Combine with one paranoid conspiracy theory:
Hawkes is given the throne in waiting by the Walker clan's right hand henchman being Patrick Swain. The plan is cooked up that the county treasures position is going to come open. That means that the gang of seven, firmly in control of the outflow of money - could and would control the inflow of money making the circle complete.
Bake until half-done.

Yet another bald-faced Phillip Klein Lie. First, The "Walker Clan" could care less who holds the office of County Treasurer. Secondly, The "Walker Clan" does'nt even know who Mr. Hawkes is and thirdly Patrick Swain is nobodys "henchman". Klein Lies.

PRK wakes up everyday trying to start a fight with whomever is respected in the community. He makes up lies and prints them trying to fuel the fight. Then he sues people who question his credibility. The public recognizes that this guy has serious mental issues. He should be committed before he goes postal.

Keith Hawkes is a good man. It is sad that Klein repeatedly attacks people before he ever makes an attempt to know anything of their true character.
Good people risk attacks by Klein because character, decency, integrity and their standing in community make them targets for his jealous vindictiveness.
