Democrats Strike

Philip R. Klein's hypocritical positions are evident in this posting on the Southeast Texas Political Review:
And so it starts. Next Tuesday at 2 p.m. - the democratic party of Jefferson County will attempt to kick out independent candidate Robert Reid who is supported by the mainstream independents in Jefferson County.

As we told you three weeks ago - Candidate Mark Derouen filed a request to Judge Ronald Walker to have Reid Kicked off the ballot in November. The reason? Well the Review went to the court today and found that there are two reasons - FIRST : Reid did not put his name in a blank on a page when he turned in his ballot (yes we are being serious) and SECOND : He signed his name in areas to which he should not have signed his name (yes we are being serious again).
Disregarding the mangled spelling of Marc Derouen's name. Philip "broke" a similar story on January 12, 2010:
The Southeast Texas Political Review has learned this afternoon that Jefferson County District Attorney Thomas Maness has filed for an office that - according to the Texas Legislature - does not exist. Meaning - he filing illegally and should be dropped from the race effective immediately.

According to sources within the Democratic party - as well at the Jefferson County Court House, Maness filed for the position of "District Attorney." There is no office called "District Attorney" according to the State Election Commission and State of Texas Statute. The proper name for the office that Maness is running for is "Criminal District Attorney." And that designation is important according to the Texas Legislature.
Philip claimed he had corroboration of this charge. From January 19, 2010:
The Review has the documents. The Review will post the documents...
Philip posted these "documents" on February 3, 2010, exactly as shown here:

As I noted at the time, whoever wrote this couldn't spell very well; presumably, Tom Maness would know how to spell his own name.

In lieu of of any meaningful commentary, Philip lapses into the "same old think, over and over and over again."
Here in the end is the deal. Derouen will win because he is a democrat. Game over for Reid. But Derouen goes into office with a serious cloud over his head. We are really surprised that Judge Morgan - who is retiring did not sit the young Derouen down and lecture him.

This is the democrats in Jefferson County folks - they play dirty and they play to win. And you tea party people - you got their attention. This is now a call - this one stupid office - this is a call to arms for the tea party members.

The Review hears that there may be a packed house from community leaders in Port Arthur to political leaders from around Jefferson County.

Oh...there is case law - we will let you know about this next week.....GIGGLE. But remember - this is Jefferson County - where the law means NOTHING and what the machine wants they get.
According to Klein's logic, Tea Party candidates are allowed to make clerical mistakes, but Tom Maness should step down immediately because of typographical errors. Readers should note that I have no opinion on the Marc Derouen/Robert Reid race; rather I'm commenting on the bias of Philip R. Klein.

If Gus wasn't here, someone else would be. I'm surprised there are only two.
